We are pleased to announce the new version of Goojet, available for the iPhone and Android! After testing the application on Goojet users and non-users alike, we have created a new version that will surely make our presence known in the world of social media for mobile phones. The new version of Goojet is organized into themes with subscription choices separated into several categories, each filled with a considerable amount of content choices. So without further ado, here are some screenshots.

The new version of Goojet gives you quick access to new content based on your interests and hobbies. Currently, there are six themes to choose from: News, fun, high-tech, entertainment, sports, and well being. Be on the lookout for more in the future! In each theme you can find a comprehensive list of feeds to choose, from a wide variety of sources.

The new version has also become more user-friendly and easier to navigate. With a fun yet simple design, each theme is now divided into two parts: News and Buzz.

News: Here you can see real-time news feeds from only the sources that you’ve selected! That means you will only see the headlines that interest you, conveniently located all in one place.

Buzz: Here you will see the most popular news posts according to other Goojeters! Here’s how buzzing works - whenever you see any post or article that really interests you on Goojet, click the Buzz button. The more people that Buzz a certain post, the longer it will stay on your Buzz feed. With the new Buzz feature, you can easily find which articles other users are enjoying the most.

Being a community as well, there are new ways to connect and communicate with other Goojeters. In addition to the themes, there are two other sections in the new version of Goojet: All of Goojet and My Community.

All of Goojet: Here you will find all of the activity happening on Goojet, no matter the theme. This section offers you a great way to discover new content.

My Community: This section allows you to communicate with your other Goojet contacts and see what they are buzzing.

Finally, there is also a new way to share content – by buzzing directly to your friends on Facebook or Twitter! When buzzing an article, you will have the option to choose if you want to buzz to either source in addition to the Buzz section of that theme.

In conclusion, the new version of Goojet allows you to easily discover new content on your mobile phone in a way that’s dynamic, fun, and simple. Goojet can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store or on the Android Market. And remember – don’t forget to buzz!

On June 10th, Goojet has been organizing an event called “Mobile Media Night-by Goojet”. With the announcement of our fund raising, the launch of our new version but also, and on top of all, the beginning of our commercial offer, we had decided to celebrate with a special event. Instead of “just” setting up a party or an announcement event, we preferred preparing a more innovative and more “useful” concept. Thus, we organized a roundtable about the mobile and its possibilities for the announcers and the brands; the topic was: ”How do brands take advantage of the mobile internet explosion?”

Were programmed: a presentation of statistics about mobile usage by Comscore, several panels with our speakers, a presentation of Goojet, and then, chats with a drink around a buffet. All along the evening, it was possible to discover Goojet, not only on the Plasma screens, but also because, for the first time since the creation of Goojet, there were more Goojet Team members in Paris than in Toulouse ;-).

During the night, we had also prepared a game called “Goojet Family”, whose concept was taken from the “7 families” game, which invited all the participants (more than 150 although the initial goal was 120…) to find the other members of their family to exchange goojets in a sticker format. Among the people who had found the most family members, an HTC Magic phone was to win; it is finally Milton from Phonevalley who won the device, lucky him!

While we are launching the new version of Goojet, we are also proud to announce a new round of fundraising for Goojet, amounted to 6 million Euros.

Almost a year and a half after our first round of fundraising amounted to 2.3 million Euros back in Decmber 07, this new round was made by Goojet’s historical investors joined by Orkos Capital. If you are interested by this matter, you can have a look at their websites but also at others companies they have invested in:

The biggest question still remaining since the launching is “what will the money be used for?”. In a nutshell, there are two answers to this question: first, to continue our development in France, on the basis of our current growth and first experiences, and second to grow on an international scale, starting by Europe. This fundraising is a very good sign for Goojet’s growth because our value (that we won’t announce) is superior to the one we had a year and a half ago, for the first round.

We’ve just released a new version of Goojet! Here are a few screenshots of what you will discover:

What are the new features of this version?

First, we had a slight reorganization. The first page that you will visualize when you will log on to Goojet will not only be your selection of goojets but will be divided into three tabs:

We worked more especially on the Messages and News tabs.

Your mailbox inside Goojet has been completely redone in order to ease communication between one or several Goojet users but also on the outside, for example with free text messages. With this new mailbox, it will be very easy to send a goojet or a goojet’s page, in order for example to share a cool video seen on YouTube Mobile or the last comical FML story…

The News tab will allow you to find everything that is new on your Goojet space: articles from your RSS feeds, amusing content, activities your Goojet contacts are doing… but also some recommendations for specific goojets, according to your preferences or coming from the community.
The purpose of this new function is to present, every time that you log on, a new content chosen depending on your choices and preferences. This is why we call Goojet a mobile social media!

Here we go! Goojet is available on the Android Market and all happy owners of an Android phone such as the HTC Dream (G1) or the HTC Magic (G2) will now have the chance to use Goojet!

After Goojet for iPhone with the iPhone app or previously a runtime for Blackberry that went in addition to our J2ME app, it was very logical for us to very quickly make it available on the Android platform. The motivation was double: Android is a platform that allows great development possibilities and the number of users will grow exponentially in the next months.

In this Goojet Android version you’ll find all the Goojet features you already know: easy navigation of goojets, video watching, pictures taken directly from the Goojet app, etc.

But there are two major new features exclusively for the Android version:

• Goojet notifications appear directly on the Android phone desktop (an icon appears at the top left of the screen when you have messages). On Android, the Goojet app runs in the background, checks regularly for new Goojet messages and then displays an alert! Real-time alerts ensure that you’re always aware of your Goojet activity, never missing a step (or date).

• The possibility to “bookmark a Goojet” and to put it on the phone desktop. Now you can easily launch one specific goojet from the Android phone dekstop!

Android Market can only by browsed from an Android phone but you can check the Goojet Android app description on a non-official Android Market web version.

Wow! Amazing welcome to Goojet on iPhone! After only a few days in the iTunes appstore our application has entered the top three in its category and new signups from the iPhone are skyrocketing.

A huge welcome to all our new iPhone users! We’re keeping a close eye on the feedback we’re seeing in blogs, in the appstore and of course through email and twitter.

We owe a big apology to not only our iPhone users, but to all our users: the impact of this huge number of new signups is a significant drop in the reponsiveness of our service. We know that it can require quite a bit of patience these days.

In the begining of Februrary we’ll roll out an upgrade of our technical backbone that will restore a correct responsiveness of the service. Until then we’ll have to ask you to be patient with us and know that behind the scenes our technical team is working around the clock to prepare the new backbone and do whatever is possible to improve the situation until then.

Thanks for your patience, please keep sending us your feedback, we love them. And enjoy Goojet!

The news came last night: the Goojet iPhone App for iPhones and iPod Touch is now available on iTunes and you can download it (for free of course). It is available both in French and English.

This new application will allow our many iPhone users (a fast growing population!) to have easier access to the social aspects of Goojet, by for instance allowing much easier access to the messaging features of the platform. Sharing a service is never more than a single click away!
Another feature we’re very excited about is the integration with the iPhone camera. You can now add photos to walls, be it your own wall or your friends’ walls.

If this application is only for iPhone, the main interest of Goojet is also that your friends that are not on iPhone, can be on Goojet with you and you can share goojets or send messages to them too! (Goojet is available on more than 300 phones thanks to the java-based client).

We announced last week that we were among the finalists of the Red Herring Global 100 Award, and in fact we are winner of this award!

Guillaume (Goojet’s CEO) came back with this good news from San Diego on FRiday where the conference and the ceremony took place and it is now official and public since today and the mail we received from Red Herring.

The 100 winners were selected from a list of 1800 companies who were all previous finalists or winner of a “local” edition (we were a Red Herring Europe Top 100 winner).

When we look at the list of past award winners that include Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, and YouTube, we only have one objective : follow in their footsteps

Goojet already won Red Herring Europe 100 award last year and it was a great recognition for the Goojet team. Now we are pleased to announce that Goojet was selected among the finalists for the Red Herring 100 Global. Evaluations are made on both quantitative and qualititative criteria, such as innovation, management, global strategy and ecosystem integration. Were eligibles the companies from America, Asia and Europe that won a local price in the past 3 years.

To be part of such an exclusive liste makes us very happy and it shows well how we have been working since the launch of the beta in June 2008.

2008 was a very good year for Goojet and 2009 starts the same, great!
