It’s the launch ! Goojet opens today in public with the new version.
We’re not going to write a long text for this opening, because we’ll write another one with more explanations very soon. The thing you have to keep in mind before connecting to the service is that : with Goojet, you can discover, select and share the best from the web as widgets that run on both PC and Mobile.
You had seen the screenshots in a previous post, it is now time for you to finally use it. And, since it is public, you will have the possibility to invite lots of people arround you. It is pretty simple what you have to say to them : Move your web ! From the PC to the Mobile, from you to your friends, change the way you’re using the internet !
We would like to thank all our beta users : it is thanks to them, thanks to their feedbacks and comments that we could see what was missing in the demo version of December. This new version is so Your version, and we hope you will enjoy it.
It is not necessary to say that you are all invited to tell us your questions, your comments. You can do it either here with a comment, or by sending a message to “goojy” within Goojet.
See you soon on Goojet.

Did you know that some of the Goojet team members were also blogging on their own blogs ?
We invite you today to read these blogs, and of course it is not about their private stories but about Goojet, seen in their eyes.
The first one is Sylvain. He is the CTO of Goojet and is blogging on bluxte.net mainly about technical issues. In a recent article, Sylvain explains on his blog the various techniques used at Goojet to ensure snappy responses to user actions. The characteristics of mobile networks are effectively quite different from what we’re used to on classical landline connections. Taking those differences into account is key to reduce latency and improve the experience of mobile web users.
If you’re more into marketing or interested in the web new trends, there is also Cédric, marketing manager at Goojet, that is blogging (in French) on www.cedricgiorgi.com. In a recent post, Cedric was publishing the presentation he made at a conference, talking about mobile viral marketing. If the subject is interesting you, here are the slides (in English) :
It has been disclosed on Tuesday 15th during a conference that took place in Malta : Goojet isone of the winners of the Red Herring Top 100 Europe.
For those of you who don’t know it, it is an award given par Red Herring, an american media company. Each year, they select best start-ups from all over the world in the high-tech field. They have differents categories and one of them is Europe.
Among previous winners of a Red Herring Award, we can find ebay, Skype or even google ! You can so understand why it is such a pleasur for us to have such a price this year.
Getting this award is giving the whole team more motivation to finalize the new version of Goojet, coming before the summer…

The new version is almost there, but it is always in the last weeks that you have to face to important choices and decisions… That’s why we need you to help us to decide what are the priorities for Goojet.
Take the survey and tell us what you think about Goojet, how you see it. Let us develop the mobile-web service of your dreams !

Your responses are very helpful for us. Tanks a lot for taking the time to give them us !

You know this video because we already had put it on the blog but we now have received a new version with a music and some sounds that have been integrated.
As you will see, it is much better now. It is much more funny to see the Goojet chicks walking in the streets like that. With the music and the graphical style, the video as some kind of an electro eighties spririt
When we will launch in public, we will have new videos and we hope you will like them as much as this one. If you have some comments to do about it, feel free to tell them us ! It is still time to improve what we’re doing for the videos.
The music is by Jeroen Tel (For the Commodore 64 game Eliminator, Hewson 1988)
Hi everyone,
We’ve just launched a new version of Goojet which brings a lot of bug fixes and improvements (actually, there are almost 100 new things in this version). All the different tasks that have been done are not visible for you, since a good part of them are concerning our back end (what you cannot see, nor feel) but several ones were asked by you in the feedback we received. We have to thank you for that : the majority of bug fixes and improvements we’ve done, it is beacause we received a demand coming from you ! So please keep sending us your feedback, your suggestions : leave us a comment on this blog , or write a post on the forum, or contact us by email (contact@goojet.com).
We are still in private beta, it is still the first version of Goojet, and here are the main improvements coming :
Functional improvements :
- It is now possible to add a text when sending (by drag&droping) a goojet to one or several people from your community of contacts (to describe it, explain why you send it etc…)
- We have worked a lot on latency issues and we’re happy to tell you that goojet ist much faster on lots of handsets.
- You can now change your mobile phone number on the web portal : open your profile and change the phone number so that you can test on different phones, or change it, or whatever you want?
- We now use the “Wap Push” method to let you install Goojet: you do not need to give your mobile model during the registration, it is directly detected by the SMS sent to you.
- To improve the comprehension of Goojet, the video “Goojet Tutorial” is launched when users log in to goojet for the first time. This video is also available on the website or on the blog.
- Link between goojeters : an invitation is automatically deleted when the goojeter has answered to it. Moreover, this invitation works now in boths directions : when you accept someone to become your friend (he can send you goojets) he becomes also your firend (you can send him goojets).
- The “RSS” Goojet has been improved : it is now possible to have a preview of it. And there is a better support fo feedburner-based rss.
- We have had several supported hansets : we have had new phones in the list so that we can better cover the main phones used by people.
Small improvements :
- Better comment visualisation on a note on a phone.
- Goojet has now a beatiful favicon
- Goojets have been re-organized on the web platform to fit the grid.
- The number of goojets found is now shown after a serach request.
- Goojets by default have been changed.
- More feedback on the web portal (after a poll, a comment, an error etc. )
- Blog and Forum links are now active on the web portal
- In the “create” tab, it is shown that users have to do a drag&drop to create a goojet.
- “Profile” is changed : the user name and the avatar pic are shown.
- We have homogenized the use of Name + Surname instead of the login.
- We have limited the size of pics to 500ko
Debugging (almost 50 bugs have been resolved thanks to your feedback, thanks again !).
- After logging out, you now come back to the website, and not to and old page…
- Better confirmation messages on the web portal
- No more bug when sending a goojet folder to a friend.
- No more bug concerning the number of goojets in the Goobox.
- No more bug when sending a goojet named with special caracters
- No more bug when deleting a goojet
- Several bugs fixed concerning goojet runinng on Internet Explorer (use Firefox !)
- Message time is now correct
And we say it again, we have worked a lot on bugs and improvements that are not visible but that (now that they are solved) highly improve the goojet use.
Please note also that, besides to the bug fixes an improvements made to the actual version, the Goojet team is working hard on the next version of Goojet that will go live in two or three months and that will bring lots of changes… but we keep them still secret for the moment.
Thank you for keeping sending us feedback !

For our private beta launch that took place at Leweb3 last December, we needed a video to present Goojet (that has been made by Pinkanova, a promising young French video-agency). We needed to illustrate what Goojet allows you to do, what are the main concepts involved in the platform etc.
Two videos have been made : you have certainly already seen the first one since it is the presentation video that is available on the Goojet website:
But there was also another video that has the objective to present and illustrate the “Goojet Philosophy”. We wanted to have a video with all our “catch lines”, in a funny and original way. The guys from Pinkanova have found an interesting manner to ilustrate the messages keeping it as clear as possible. There is no title for the video by now but we could name it “The Goojet chick walk”, isn’t ?
Next step for these videos (that are are also available on a dedicated page on this blog) : remove the small bugs and imperfections, update the content with the improvements that will be available with the public beta (on which we are working hard now) but also (and especially) put some sound and music on the videos.
Do not hesitate to let us comments with what you think about them. Do they show enough how Goojet is working for you that are beta testers ? And for those that do not know Goojet yet, are you interested to use it after to have seen the videos ?
Thank you for your feedback.

Last week, Goojet won the start-up competition that was organized for the conference Le Web 3 in Paris. It was a real surprise for us and thanks to winning the competition Goojet has gained a lot of audience, contacts etc…

But let’s go back to the competition. To win, we had to succeed in two steps:
- First selection: almost 120 start-ups had sent an application to the organization. 30 were selected to have the right to present their solution. To be one of the chosen few, we had to fill in a dossier that was to be examined by the selection committee. Cathy presented an overview of the selection process in the Le Web 3 conference blog.
- Second selection: The pitch. The rules were simple but terrifying: You had 7 minutes (and not a second more) to present the solution in front of a panel of experts and web professionals. It was actually more a case of presenting the idea and concept than just the company or the solution. This presentation was performed in the start-up dock, in front of something close to a hundred spectators and the jury consisting of five experts. There were about 30 jury members in total, but they were split into groups that each judged around five to six candidates, based upon the same criteria.
We won this ordeal thanks to the Goojet solution, but also thanks to respecting the rules imposed by the selection process and the great pitch by Marc (Marc Rougier, our CEO).
We would like to send a huge congratulations to all the other projects that presented during the competition. There were plenty of interesting solutions that also could have deserved the title.
This award has been a shot of energy for the team that has been working (very) hard on creating a solution that truly aims at fulfilling the end user needs. Upcoming posts will focus more on our team, since one should never forget that the quality of the solution is directly dependant upon the quality of the team!

This announcement has been published monday by the press agency and although the news might not interest our end users, it is an important step in the life of a startup and we therefore want to share it with you.
On Monday Goojet announced the closure of a seed round of 2,3 million Euros from the investors Partech International, Elaia Partners, and IRDI. This seed round (announced Monday but we’ve obviously known it for a while…), allows us to build a first version of Goojet in the way we’ve been hoping for. Thanks to the seed round, we’ll be able to grow the Goojet team which currently counts around 15 team members.
It’s important to state that this seed round doesn’t only provide us with an extended budget, but also means that can enjoy the experience and the added credibility this strong set of partners provide.
Marc Rougier, the Goojet CEO, will soon post to this blog and will provide more details on the seed round.
For those who are interested, you can find the press release here:
