Goojet available on Android phones

500px-android-logosvg-androidHere we go! Goojet is available on the Android Market and all happy owners of an Android phone such as the HTC Dream (G1) or the HTC Magic (G2) will now have the chance to use Goojet!

After Goojet for iPhone with the iPhone app or previously a runtime for Blackberry that went in addition to our J2ME app, it was very logical for us to very quickly make it available on the Android platform. The motivation was double: Android is a platform that allows great development possibilities and the number of users will grow exponentially in the next months.

In this Goojet Android version you’ll find all the Goojet features you already know: easy navigation of goojets, video watching, pictures taken directly from the Goojet app, etc.

But there are two major new features exclusively for the Android version:

  • Goojet notifications appear directly on the Android phone desktop (an icon appears at the top left of the screen when you have messages). On Android, the Goojet app runs in the background, checks regularly for new Goojet messages and then displays an alert! Real-time alerts ensure that you’re always aware of your Goojet activity, never missing a step (or date).
  • The possibility to “bookmark a Goojet” and to put it on the phone desktop. Now you can easily launch one specific goojet from the Android phone dekstop!

Android Market can only by browsed from an Android phone but you can check the Goojet Android app description on a non-official Android Market web version.

Here are some screenshots to show you what it looks like on an Android phone:

Goojet partner of Le Mobile 2.0 conference in Paris

headerlemobile20

In 2 weeks will be held in Paris a conference called Le Mobile 2.0. We’re happy to announce that Goojet is a partner of this conference, that has become, in 3 years, a major event concerning the mobile ecosystem, startups and trends in France but also worldwide.

For its third edition, the 10th and 11th of March, the conference is divided in two days : a first one with plenary sessions or panels, and a second one with a startup competition called “Zapping du Mobile”. A total of 36 international speakers are expected.

Goojet will be present in two ways: on one side, Ludovic Le Moan will be a speaker on a panel concerning mobile widgets and on the other side, Goojet is partner of the event and proposes a dedicated space on the mobile for all attendees to the conference :

Dossier Le Mobile2.0

Thanks to this dedicated collection of goojets, all participants will enjoy news and interactive services about the conference directly from their mobile : the agenda, news on Twitter or pictures on Flickr, a wall to share ideas and opinions, quizz, speaker bios etc…

To add it to your goojets : Le Mobile 2.0 on Goojet

Let’s meet during the Mobile World Congress

mwc_logo2

Some Goojet team members will attend THE event dedicated to the mobile industry: the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

We’ll not only attend the exhibition to meet some partners, suppliers or friends, we’ll also be there for other events such as the Mobile Peer Awards on Monday that gathers all Mobile Monday organizers and participants from all over the world.

But that’s not enough! We’re very pleased to announce that we have been invited to speak at 2 major events during the MWC:

  • Guillaume Decugis (Goojet CEO) will speak on a conference session panel during MWC called “The Business of Mobile 2.0“. It’s on Tuesday at 2pm.
  • Marc Rougier (Goojet President) will speak during the TechcrunchTalk Mobile organized by Mike Butcher from Techcrunch Uk in parallel to the MWC. It’s held on Thursday from 3pm to 9pm.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you want to meet there.

Goojet updated: now much faster!

As we announced it last week, we needed to update Goojet in order to support all the new members we have every day and therefore propose a good experience and  all our regular users.

So yesterday we did the update, and everything went well!

Not many visible changes for our users (the update mostly affected the backend), except that it’s much much faster. Goojet has dramatically increased in speed, whether on mobile or on the web portal and we are sure you will enjoy it.

As a “bonus” with this update, a new website, that we hope clearer and better for the comprehension of new visitors. Have a look :

Good news, bad news: Goojet’s success causing some registration delays

Wow! Amazing welcome to Goojet on iPhone! After only a few days in the iTunes appstore our application has entered the top three in its category and new signups from the iPhone are skyrocketing.

A huge welcome to all our new iPhone users! We’re keeping a close eye on the feedback we’re seeing in blogs, in the appstore and of course through email and twitter.

We owe a big apology to not only our iPhone users, but to all our users: the impact of this huge number of new signups is a significant drop in the reponsiveness of our service. We know that it can require quite a bit of patience these days.

In the begining of Februrary we’ll roll out an upgrade of our technical backbone that will restore a correct responsiveness of the service. Until then we’ll have to ask you to be patient with us and know that behind the scenes our technical team is working around the clock to prepare the new backbone and do whatever is possible to improve the situation until then.

Thanks for your patience, please keep sending us your feedback, we love them. And enjoy Goojet!

Goojet iPhone App now available

screen-1-enThe news came last night: the Goojet iPhone App for iPhones and iPod Touch is now available on iTunes and you can download it (for free of course). It is available both in French and English.

Here is the link to our app on iTunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=300099731

This new application will allow our many iPhone users (a fast growing population!) to have easier access to the social aspects of Goojet, by for instance allowing much easier access to the messaging features of the platform. Sharing a service is never more than a single click away!
Another feature we’re very excited about is the integration with the iPhone camera. You can now add photos to walls, be it your own wall or your friends’ walls.

If this application is only for iPhone, the main interest of Goojet is also that your friends that are not on iPhone, can be on Goojet with you and you can share goojets or send messages to them too! (Goojet is available on more than 300 phones thanks to the java-based client).

And now some screenshots of this new app:

Goojet awarded Red Herring Top 100 Global Company

winners

We announced last week that we were among the finalists of the Red Herring Global 100 Award, and in fact we are winner of this award!

Guillaume (Goojet’s CEO) came back with this good news from San Diego on FRiday where the conference and the ceremony took place and it is now official and public since today and the mail we received from Red Herring.

The 100 winners were selected from a list of 1800 companies who were all previous finalists or winner of a “local” edition (we were a Red Herring Europe Top 100 winner).

When we look at the list of past award winners that include Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, and YouTube, we only have one objective : follow in their footsteps ;)

Goojet named “Red Herring 100 Global” Finalist

finalists_web_rh

Goojet already won Red Herring Europe 100 award last year and it was a great recognition for the Goojet team. Now we are pleased to announce that Goojet was selected among the finalists for the Red Herring 100 Global. Evaluations are made on both quantitative and qualititative criteria, such as innovation, management, global strategy and ecosystem integration. Were eligibles the companies from America, Asia and Europe that won a local price in the past 3 years.

To be part of such an exclusive liste makes us very happy and it shows well how we have been working since the launch of the beta in June 2008.

2008 was a very good year for Goojet and 2009 starts the same, great!

Happy New Year 2009!

The Goojet team wishs you a happy new year 2009. We hope that this new year will me much better than the previous one!

A huge THANKS for your presence and support in 2008. “Rendez-vous” in 2009 for much more mobile web with Goojet! ;)

Awarded in 2007 at le Web 3, Goojet is back this year!

leweb.jpg

Le Web 08 conference took place in Paris the 9th and 10th of December and Goojet was partner of the event with a stand. We were happy to have a lot of journalists, web&mobile addicts or even just curious people visiting us during the conference (perhaps also because we won the leweb startup competition last year). For the occasion we’ve also made a special selection of goojets that well show the possibilities offered by our service and especially when it’s about creating “mobile portals” for special events.

web08_folder.png

What can be found in this special folder :
